Agriculture Export Promotion Plan Scheme of APEDA to continue in 12th plan period with outlay of Rs 1100 crore

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for continuation of the Agriculture Export Promotion Plan Scheme of the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) with four components in the 12th Plan period (2012-13 to 2016-17). These components are infrastructure development, transport assistance, market development and quality development.

The main objective of the scheme is to enhance the capability of the Indian exporters of agro products and support them in realizing their export potential. The components of the scheme would help in catalyzing the efforts of the exporting community through need based interventions by APEDA at different stages of the supply chain.

The outlay of the scheme will be Rs.1100 crore during the 12th Plan period. The component wise and year wise break up of outlay of the scheme will be as follows:
