Air passenger traffic of domestic airlines rises 1.2% in September 2019

Cumulative air passenger traffic up 3.0% to 1058.91 lakh in January-September 2019

The air passenger traffic of domestic airlines has increased 1.2% to 115.33 lakh in September 2019 over 113.98 lakh in September 2018. Indigo has posted strong 13.0% growth in the passenger traffic to 55.59 lakh, while gained share to 48.2% in September 2019. Spice Jet also posted strong 24.7% growth in the passenger traffic to 17.00 lakh, followed by Air India 11.2% to 14.95 lakh and Go Air 34.2% to 13.27 lakh, Further, the passenger traffic of Air Asia jumped 45.6% to 7.25 lakh, Vistara 52.3% to 6.64 lakh and Trujet 12.0% to 0.56 lakh.

The cumulative air passenger traffic increased 3.0% to 1058.91 lakh in January-September 2019 over 1027.92 lakh in January-September 2018.

The airline wise seat load factor for Air India was at 79.0%, Spice Jet 93.0%, Air Heritage 91.7%, Go Air 86.7%, Indigo 86.5%, Air Asia 84.7%, Vistara 80.3%, Trujet 68.2%, Star Air 51.0% and Air Deccan 22.6% in September 2019.
