Ashok Leyland gained 1.82% to Rs 75.45 at 10:25 IST on BSE after the company said that its total sales rose 41% to 10,461 units in June 2015 over June 2014.
The company made announcement after market hours yesterday, 1 July 2015.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 16.53 points, or 0.06%, to 28,037.40.
On BSE, so far 4.25 lakh shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 15.52 lakh shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 76.30 and low of Rs 75.40 so far during the day. The stock hit a record high of Rs 77 on 15 April 2015. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 29.05 on 14 July 2015.
The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 1 July 2015, rising 3.06% compared with 0.62% rise in the Sensex. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, declining 0.07% as against Sensex's 0.85% decline.

Ashok Leyland's net profit fell 36.7% to Rs 229.97 crore on 36.8% rise in total income to Rs 4759.11 crore in Q4 March 2015 over Q4 March 2014.
