Ashok Leyland in spotlight after securing order for supply of 3,600 vehicles

Ashok Leyland announced after market hours yesterday, 26 November 2015, that it has signed a contract with the government of Cote D'Ivoire for supply of 3,600 vehicles worth $200 million. This contract is being funded by Exim bank of India and is pending final clearance from respective governments. The vehicles, which include trucks and buses, will be delivered over the next 12 months, Ashok Leyland said in a statement.

GAIL (India) after market hours yesterday, 26 November 2015 said that the company in collaboration with National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), a unit of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), has launched an innovative surveillance geo-portal called Bhuvan-GAIL portal utilizing space technology for its pipeline application in order to address the pipeline security concerns. Pipeline securities is a major issue across the world and with recent progress in satellite sensing technology, availability of new high resolution satellites, object oriented image analysis, etc, there is a possibility to introduce space technology for pipeline monitoring applications, GAIL (India) said in a statement.

Edelweiss Financial Services announced after market hours yesterday, 26 November 2015, that Edelweiss Group and Sun Global investments, a leading boutique investment manager headquartered in London, have entered into a partnership agreement to offer full service solutions in Rupee-denominated (INR) fixed income markets - both primary and secondary, as well as Dollar (USD)-denominated Indian debt across UK, Europe & Asia.

Fortis Healthcare announced after market hours yesterday, 26 November 2015, that one of its step-down subsidiaries, Stellant Capital Advisory Services (Stellant), has entered into a share purchase agreement (SPA) with RGAM Investment Advisors (RGAM) and other shareholders, to acquire 100% equity stake in Religare Health Trust Trustee Manager, (a company incorporated in Singapore that acts as Trustee Manager to Religare Health Trust (RHT), of which the company is sponsor) at a consideration of $14.9 million. RGAM, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Religare Enterprises, holds 90% equity stake in Religare Health Trust Trustee Manager. The transaction is on an arms length basis and the valuation has been done by an independent valuer. This being a related party transaction, it has been approved by the respective boards/shareholders, as per stipulated requirements of the Companies Act, 2013, the company said in a statement.

Tata Power Company announced after market hours yesterday, 26 November 2015, that it has launched 'Energy Efficient 5 Star Split AC New Purchase and Exchange Program' to allow consumers to exchange their inefficient electrical appliances for energy efficient appliances and motivate them to associate with and contribute to ensuring a greener and sustainable planet in a more integrated fashion. Under this scheme, Tata Power consumers may purchase a new BEE 5-star rated split AC or exchange their non-star ACs for BEE 5-star rated split ACs and avail a discount of up to 50% on MRP for various models of branded ACs up to 1 ton, 1.5 ton capacity. Initiated by Tata Power in partnership with Godrej, the program offers attractive discounts, newer advanced AC models and energy efficient invertor technology-based AC models. The offer price of the Energy Efficient 5 Star Split AC Program includes machine cost, taxes, duties, standard installation charges and buyback of an old AC, which will be scrapped in an eco-friendly manner, the company added.

Welspun Corp announced after market hours yesterday, 26 November 2015, that it has won an order for supply of 216 K MTs line pipes for an onshore project in America. With the addition of this order, current order book of the company has crossed 1040 K MTs worth Rs 6400 crore.
