Australia Market finishes at new 10-year high

Australia stock market closed session higher on Thursday, 21 June 2018, on the back of strong leads overnight in overseas markets. Most of ASX sectors inclined, with shares in retailers, consumer goods, materials, and financials leading rally. The S&P/ASX 200 index closed 59.5 points, or 1% higher at 6232.1, its highest level since January 2008. The broader All Ordinaries was up 58.3 points, or 0.93%, at 6,332.9 points. Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 739 to 521 and 409 ended unchanged. The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 0.87% to 11.833.
