Australia Market gains 0.2% on energy stocks lift
Capital MarketAustralia stock market closed slight higher on Thursday, 10 May 2018, on tracking positive cues from Wall Street overnight, with shares of energy and mining companies leading rally on the back of rising commodity prices. The benchmark S&P/ASX200 added 10.7 points, or 0.2%, to 6,118.7 points, while the broader All Ordinaries index gained 11.5 points, or 0.2%, to 6,215.9 points. Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 645 to 553 and 405 ended unchanged. The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 0.23% to 11.345.
