Australia Market gains as miners
Capital Market Australian share market started a new week with firm footing on Monday, 06 June 2016, on the back of strong gains in mining stocks, after surprisingly weak U.S. jobs growth knocked up the U.S. dollar and sent gold and metal prices higher. Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Australia Stock Exchange by 531 to 486 and 304 ended unchanged. The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was up 0.97% to 17.253.
