Australia Market hits 3-month high on financials, healthcare lift

Australia stock market finished session slight higher on Tuesday, 08 May 2018, after briefly touching a three-month peak early today as investors strived to reduce their exposure before the 2018 federal budget due later in the day. Among ASX sectors, gains in financials and healthcare stocks were largely offset by a weakness in energy and materials stocks. The S&P/ASX 200 index rose 7.4 points or 0.12% to 6,091.9 at the close of trade.
