Australia Market skids on China growth woes
Capital Market Australian share market declined for third consecutive session on Wednesday, 06 January 2016, as anxiety over global growth after weaker than expected manufacturing data globally and renewed geopolitical risk stemming from Iran-Saudi tensions and North Korea nuclear test. Barring utilities, all sectors traded in the red with energy, materials, and financials leading declines. At the close, the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index tumbled 61.30 points, or 1.18%, down at 5123.10 points, while the broader All Ordinaries index lost 61.20 points, or 1.17%, to 5178 points. The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, rose 1.4% at 19.20, suggesting 5.4% swing in the equity benchmark index in the next 30 days.
