Australia: Market snaps five-day losing streak
Capital MarketAustralia stock market finished session higher after recouping early losses on Thursday, 24 May 2018, as gains in industrial, retailers and upbeat earning from gambling equipment marker Aristocrat Leisure helped outweigh a continued fall for financial, miners and energy stocks. The benchmark S&P/ASX200 was up 4.6 points, or 0.08%, at 6,037.1 points, while the broader All Ordinaries index was up 3.8 points, or 0.06%, at 6,144.1 points. Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 625 to 573 and 388 ended unchanged. The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 0.86% to 13.488.
