Capital Market Australian share market finished session higher on Monday, 15 January 2018, as investors risk sentiments underpinned by tracking positive lead from Wall Street on Friday, with shares of material and resources being notable gainers, thanks to strong gains in gold and base metal prices. The S&P/ASX 200 index rose 0.1%, or 7 points to 6077.1 at the close of trade. Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 715 to 579 and 382 ended unchanged. The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was up 4.37% to 11.117.
