AVT Natural Products slips on profit booking

AVT Natural Products lost 3.68% to Rs 19.65 at 10:28 IST on BSE, with the stock sliding on profit taking after Monday's rally triggered by the firm launching an exclusive range of condition-specific Health Supplements under brand name Optim Health.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 44.15 points or 0.21% at 20,894.89.

On BSE, 81,000 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 12,132 shares in past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 21.25 and a low of Rs 19 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 22 on 28 October 2013. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 12.50 on 31 July 2013.

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 18 November 2013, rising 3.55% compared with the Sensex's 0.15% fall. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, jumping 36.18% as against Sensex's 12.11% rise.

The small-cap company has equity capital of Rs 15.23 crore. Face value per share is Re 1.

Shares of AVT Natural Products had spurted 10.86% to settle at Rs 20.40 on Monday, 18 November 2013, after the company on Friday, 15 November 2013 said it has launched an exclusive range of condition-specific Health Supplements under the brand name Optim Health, in select cities.

AVT Natural Products said that the range, targeted at consumers residing in the top cities seeking good health & living, will be distributed through leading Chemists and Modern Trade stores. The launch is initially limited to Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Pune and will be scaled up in phases. Focused marketing activities will support the launch, the company added.

AVT Natural Products' net profit rose 0.9% to Rs 12.57 crore on 1.9% growth in net sales to Rs 62.62 crore in Q2 September 2013 over Q2 September 2012.

AVT Natural Products is engaged in the business of coffee and cotton plantations, tea processing, production of spices and herbs, manufacture of oil cakes and sunflower oil.
