Bajaj Auto gains after strong March sales

Bajaj Auto rose 1.43% to Rs 2,451.60 at 9:41 IST on BSE after total sales rose 22% to 3.05 lakh units in March 2016 over March 2015.

The company announced the sales volume data during market hours today, 4 April 2016.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 108.45 points, or 0.43%, to 25,378.09

On BSE, so far 9,289 shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of shares in the past one quarter. The stock hit a high of Rs 2,477.40 and a low of Rs 2,420 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 2,655 on 23 July 2015. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 1,913.80 on 30 April 2015.

The large-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 289.37 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

Bajaj Auto's motorcycles sales rose 26% to 2.64 lakh units in March 2016 over March 2015. Sales of commercial vehicles rose 2% to 41,551 units in March 2016 over March 2015. Exports rose 3% to 1.01 lakh units in March 2016 over March 2015.

Bajaj Auto's net profit rose 4.7% to Rs 901.49 crore on 1% fall in net sales to Rs 5463.20 crore in Q3 December 2015 over Q3 December 2014.
