Bajaj Auto surges after robust Q4 results

Bajaj Auto surged 4.57% to Rs 2,493.40 at 14:10 IST on BSE after net profit rose 29.18% to Rs 803.06 crore on 13.11% growth in total income to Rs 5535.56 crore in Q4 March 2016 over Q4 March 2015.

The result was announced during market hours today, 25 May 2016.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 475.16 points or 1.88% at 25,780.63.

On BSE, so far 73,000 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 21,004 shares in the past one quarter. The stock was volatile. The stock surged as much as 5.05% at the day's high of Rs 2,505 so far during the day. The stock lost as much as 0.14% at the day's low of Rs 2,381 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 2,655 on 23 July 2015. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 2,133.15 on 26 August 2015. The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 24 May 2016, sliding 5.42% compared with Sensex's 2.06% fall. The scrip had also underperformed the market in past one quarter, advancing 1.7% as against Sensex's 9.6% rise.

The large-cap company has equity capital of Rs 289.37 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.
