BGR Energy Systems rose 4.95% to Rs 116.50 at 15:10 IST on BSE after the company said it has received new orders worth Rs 300 crore in the electrical sub stations segment through its Electrical Projects Division.
The company made announcement during market hours today, 24 November 2015.
Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 55.03 points or 0.21% at 25,764.31.
Huge volumes were witnessed on the counter. On BSE, so far 1.15 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 43,029 shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 117.40 and low of Rs 110.90 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 177.60 on 9 December 2014. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 98.70 on 8 September 2015.
The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 23 November 2015, declining 9.39% compared with 6.01% decline in the Sensex. The scrip had also underperformed the market in past one quarter, dropping 9.17% as against Sensex's 5.65% fall.

The small-cap company has equity capital of Rs 72.16 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.
BGR Energy hitherto focused on generation projects has in the recent past laid thrust on Transmission and Distribution segment of power sector. BGR Energy Electrical Projects Division (EPD) has been successful in securing two substation contracts from state utility Transmission Corporation of Telangana (TSTMNSCO). The company received an eBoP contract from National power major NTPC.
These contracts are expected to enable the company to capture the entire value chain in power business in the future. EPD is currently executing engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts worth Rs 324 crore for TANTRANSCO. Including these orders, BGR Energy carries over an order book of Rs 8373.60 crore.
BGR Energy Systems' net profit fell 12% to Rs 8.37 crore on 19.6% growth in net sales to Rs 827.98 crore in Q2 September 2015 over Q2 September 2014.
