Bharti Airtel slips after twin bulk deals

Bharti Airtel declined 0.78% to Rs 334.95 at 11:23 IST on BSE after two bulk deals were executed on the counter on BSE today, 2 January 2014.

A bulk deal of 4.50 lakh shares was struck on the Bharti Airtel counter at Rs 334.50 per share at 10:58 IST on BSE today, 2 January 2014. Another bulk deal of 2.50 lakh shares was executed on the scrip at Rs 334.50 per share at 10:59 IST on BSE today, 2 January 2014. These bulk deals saw 0.0175% equity of Bharti Airtel changing hands.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 152.30 points, or 0.72%, to 21,292.78

Twin bulk deals boosted volume on the Bharti Airtel counter. On BSE, so far 7.74 lakh shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 3.30 lakh shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 339.70 and a low of Rs 334.50 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 373.50 on 1 November 2013. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 266.95 on 5 April 2013.

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 1 January 2014, rising 3.18% compared with the Sensex's 1.68% rise. The scrip, however, underperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 4.86% as against Sensex's 8.32% rise.

The large-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 1998.70 crore. Face value per share is Rs 5.
