Central Bank of India vaults after twin bulk deals

Central Bank of India jumped 10.04% to Rs 76.70 at 15:03 IST on BSE after two large bulk deals were executed on the scrip on the BSE today, 9 March 2018.

A bulk deal of 40.95 lakh shares was executed on the Central Bank of India scrip at Rs 76.80 per share at 13:55 IST on BSE. Another bulk deal of 30.45 lakh shares was executed on the scrip at Rs 76.50 per share at 14:39 IST on BSE.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 45.85 points, or 0.14% to 33,305.72.

Bulk deal boosted volume on the scrip. On the BSE, 1.37 crore shares were traded in the counter so far compared with average daily volumes of 1.59 lakh shares in the past two weeks. The stock had hit a high of Rs 79.85 and a low of Rs 66.20 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 125 on 22 May 2017. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 62.80 on 7 March 2018.

The large-cap state-run bank has equity capital of Rs 1967.75 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

Central Bank of India reported net loss of Rs 1664.22 crore in Q3 December 2017 as against net loss of Rs 605.70 crore in Q3 December 2016. Total income declined 2.93% to Rs 6589.32 crore in Q3 December 2017 over Q3 December 2016.
