Chambal Fertilisers jumps after strong Q1 earnings

Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals spurted 11.45% to Rs 70.10 at 14:16 IST on BSE after net profit rose 81.11% to Rs 146.32 crore on 22.24% growth in total income from operations (net) to Rs 2440.23 crore in Q1 June 2015 over Q1 June 2014.

The Q1 result was announced during market hours today, 10 August 2015.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 104.05 points or 0.37% at 28,340.44.

The stock surged on heavy volumes. On BSE, so far 8.73 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 60,822 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 72.75 and low of Rs 62.60 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 77 on 8 April 2015. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 54.35 on 13 August 2014.

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 7 August 2015, surging 7.43% compared with Sensex's 0.23% rise. The scrip had, however, underperformed the market in past one quarter, advancing 0.72% as against Sensex's 6.16% rise.

The small-cap fertiliser company has equity capital of Rs 416.21 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.
