China Market closes at fresh 21-month high

The Mainland China equity market finished session in diverse terrain on Thursday, 12 October 2017, as gains in financial stocks and strength in defence shares offset losses in resources firms after Beijing vowed to curb pollution throughout winter. The blue-chip CSI300 index rose 0.3%, to 3,912.95 points, while the Shanghai Composite Index shed 0.1% to 3,386.10 points. The Shenzhen Composite Index inched up 0.15 points to 2,023.36 while the Nasdaq-style ChiNext rose 0.08 per cent to 1,899.99.
