China Market falls 0.66% on fresh trade war worries
Capital MarketChina share market closed session lower on Friday, 01 June 2018, amid rekindled fears of a global trade war after the Trump administration's decision to impose steel and aluminum tariffs on Canada, Mexico and the European Union, days ahead of a third round of trade talks between Washington and Beijing which were already looking rocky. Market participants shrugged off news of China A-shares' long-awaited inclusion in MSCI's benchmark market indexes. The Shanghai Composite Index stumbled 0.66% lower, or 20.33 points, to 3.075.14 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, slipped 1.20%, or 21.22 points, to 1,746.33.
