China Market falls on trade war woes
Capital MarketHeadline shares of the Mainland China equity market were down for third straight session on Wednesday, 27 June 2018, as lingering worries over a trade war between the United States and China continued to weigh on the investors sentiments. The U.S. House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed a bill on Tuesday to tighten foreign investment rules, spurred by bipartisan concerns about Chinese bids to acquire sophisticated U.S. technology. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index was down 1.1%, or 31.33 points, to 2,813.18, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, was barely moved, dropped 1.29%, or 20.60 points, to 1,575.57. The blue-chip CSI300 index fell 71.85 points, or 1.3% to 3,575.57.
