China Stocks fall 0.5%

The Mainland China share market finished session lower on Wednesday, 20 May 2020, on rising tensions between the US and China regarding the coronavirus pandemic and sanctions on Huawei and on caution ahead of the annual parliamentary meetings that start on Thursday. At closing bell, the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index declined 0.51%, or 14.84 points, to 2,883.74. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, lost 0.97%, or 17.71 points, to 1,805.86. The blue-chip CSI300 index dropped 0.53%, or 21.03 points, to 3,935.22.
