The Mainland China equity market closed down on Friday, 16 March 2018, amid renewed concern over U.S. President Donald Trump's administration and trade policy and as next week's Federal Reserve policy meeting comes into focus. Most of SSE sectors declined, with material firms, including aluminium and steel makers, led the decline, after a US trade panel said imports of aluminium foil from China harmed US producers. At the close, the Shanghai Composite index was down 0.6% at 3,269.88, while the blue-chip CSI300 index fell 0.96% to 4,056.42.
