Six construction stocks rose by 1,73% to 4.35% at 11:25 IST on BSE after finance Minister Arun Jaitley in Union Budget 2015-16 announced that government needs to build another 1 lakh kilometers of roads.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 279.40 points or 0.98% at 29,505.48.
Among construction companies, Jaiprakash Associates (up 1.73%), Hindustan Construction Company (up 4.35%), NCC (up 3.27%), L&T (up 2.19%), IRB Infrastructure & Developers (up 2.95%), and Unity Infraprojects (up 3.06%), gained.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in Union Budget 2015-16 announced today, 28 February 2015, said that work on building 1 lakh kilometers of roads is in process and will need to build another 1 lakh kilometers of roads.
