Currency In Circulation Rises 0.7% On Week

The Reserve Bank Of India (RBI) reported that currency in circulation rose 0.7% on the week to stand at Rs 25.22 lakh crore as on 24th April 2020. The central bank noted further that the overall reserve money edged up on the week by 0.10% to Rs 30.19 lakh crore. Currency in circulation rose around 15.7% on a year ago basis compared to 14.5% jump at the same time last year. In the current fiscal, the currency in circulation has risen by 3.1% so far while the reserve money has contracted by -0.3%.
