DCB Bank rose 1.29% to Rs 184.20 after net profit rose 12.3% to Rs 96.70 crore on a 13.7% increase in total income to Rs 990.89 crore in Q3 December 2019 over Q3 December 2018.
Profit before tax (PBT) fell 2% to Rs 130.92 crore in Q3 December 2019 as against Rs 133.64 crore in Q3 December 2018. The result was announced on Saturday, 25 January 2020.
Gross non-performing assets (NPAs) stood at Rs 552.03 crore as on 31 December 2019 as against Rs 523.24 crore as on 30 September 2019 and Rs 445.12 crore as on 31 December 2018.
The ratio of gross NPAs to gross advances stood at 2.15% as on 31 December 2019 as against 2.09% as on 30 September 2019 and 1.92% as on 31 December 2018.
The ratio of net NPAs to net advances stood at 1.03% as on 31 December 2019 as against 0.96% as on 30 September 2019 and 0.71% as on 31 December 2018.
Provisions and contingencies (excluding tax provisions) rose 46.98% to Rs 59 crore in Q3 December 2019 over Q3 December 2018.

Net Interest Income (NII) rose 9.86% to Rs 323 crore in Q3 December 2019 as against Rs 294 crore for the same period last year. Net Interest Margin (NIM) for Q3 December 2019 was 3.71% compared with 3.67% in Q2 September 2019.
CASA (current account-savings account) ratio stood at 23.34% as of 31 December 2019 as against 24.25% as on 31 December 2018. Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) was at 15.80% as of 31 December 2019 with Tier I at 12.30% and Tier II at 3.50% as per Basel III norms during the quarter.
Commenting on the Q3 performance, Murali M. Natrajan, the managing director and CEO of DCB Bank, has said that, "Funding and Deposit profile is improving steadily. We are reshaping the business to direct more effort towards Mortgages and MSME/SME while reducing focus on Commercial Vehicle. We are satisfied with the momentum in recovery I upgrades of Retail and SME NPAs. Slippage in Retail and SME segment is in line with the previous quarter."
DCB Bank distributes life insurance, health insurance, general insurance and mutual fund products to new and existing customers. As of 31 December 2019, the bank had 334 branches.
