Eight core infrastructure sector's output rises 2.7% in July 2014

Core sector growth remains flat at 4.1% in April-July 2014

The Eight Core Industries output has increased 2.7% in July 2013, showing moderation in growth from 7.3% increase in June 2014. However, the cumulative growth has remained steady at 4.1% in April-July 2014 over April-July 2013.

Coal production (weight: 4.38%) increased 6.2% in July 2014 over July 2013. Its cumulative output has moved up 5.7% in April-July 2014.

Crude oil production (weight: 5.22%) declined 1.0% in July 2014, while slipped 0.3% in April-July 2014.

The natural gas production (weight: 1.71%) declined 9.0% in July 2014 and 5.2% in April-July 2014.

Petroleum refinery production (weight: 5.94%) dipped 5.5% in July 2014 and 2.2% in April-July 2014.

Fertilizer production (weight: 1.25%) declined 4.2% in July 2014. However, the fertilizers products have moved up 4.9% in April-July 2014.

Steel production (weight: 6.68%) fell 3.4% in July 2014, while posted an increase of 0.3% in April-July 2014.

Cement production (weight: 2.41%) increased 16.5% in July 2014, while moved up 11.1% in April-July 2014.

Electricity generation (weight: 10.32%) surged 11.2% in July 2014 and 11.0% in April-July 2014.
