Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 193.30 crore on Tuesday, 4 March 2014, compared with net inflow of Rs 203.10 crore on Monday, 3 March 2014.
The net inflow of Rs 193.30 crore on Tuesday, 4 March 2014, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2526.30 crore and gross sales of Rs 2333 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 195.20 crore into the secondary equity market on Tuesday, 4 March 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2526.30 crore and gross sales of Rs 2331.10 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had gained 263.08 points or 1.26% to settle at 21,209.73 on that day, its highest closing level since 23 January 2014.
There was an outflow of Rs 1.90 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on Tuesday, 4 March 2014.
FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 1004.20 crore in this month so far (till 4 March 2014). FIIs bought shares worth net Rs 1404.30 crore in February 2014.
FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 3122.80 crore in this year so far (till 4 March 2014). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 113135.70 crore in 2013.
