Net inflow of Rs 187 crore on 22 April 2014
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 187 crore on Tuesday, 22 April 2014, compared with net inflow of Rs 222.40 crore on Monday, 21 April 2014.
The net inflow of Rs 187 crore on Tuesday, 22 April 2014, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2554.80 crore and gross sales of Rs 2367.70 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 228.90 crore into the secondary equity market on Tuesday, 22 April 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2552.10 crore and gross sales of Rs 2323.30 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had lost 6.46 points or 0.03% to settle at 22,758.37 on that day, its lowest closing level since 17 April 2014.
There was a net outflow of Rs 41.80 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on Tuesday, 22 April 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2.60 crore and gross sales of Rs 44.50 crore.
FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 7601 crore in April 2014 so far (till 22 April 2014). FIIs purchased shares worth a net Rs 20077.20 crore in March 2014.
FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 29796.70 crore in this calendar year so far (till 22 April 2014). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 113135.70 crore in 2013 calendar year.
There are a total of 1,710 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India.
