Net outflow of Rs 585.50 crore on 3 July 2013
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth net Rs 585.50 crore on Wednesday, 3 July 2013 higher than net outflow of Rs 6.50 crore on Tuesday, 2 July 2013.
The net outflow of Rs 585.50 crore on Wednesday, 3 July 2013, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2418.20 crore and gross sales of Rs 3003.80 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 712.30 crore from the secondary equity markets on 3 July 2013, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2276.40 crore and gross sales of Rs 2988.60 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex lost 286.06 points or 1.47% to settle at 19,177.76 on that day, its lowest closing level since 27 June 2013.
There was a net inflow of Rs 126.70 crore into the category 'primary market others' on Wednesday, 3 July 2013, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 141.90 crore and gross sales of Rs 15.20 crore.
FIIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 72797.60 crore in 2013 so far (till 3 July 2013). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 128359.80 crore in calendar 2012.
There are a total of 1,755 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India.
