Two-day net inflow of Rs 2882.20 crore on 28 and 31 March 2014

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 2882.20 crore during two trading sessions on Friday, 28 March 2014 and Monday, 31 March 2014.

The net inflow of Rs 2882.20 crore on Friday, 28 March 2014 and Monday, 31 March 2014, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 8968.50 crore and gross sales of Rs 6086.30 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 2511.70 crore into the secondary equity market during two trading sessions on Friday, 28 March 2014 and Monday, 31 March 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 8595.20 crore and gross sales of Rs 6083.60 crore.

There was a net inflow of Rs 370.60 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on Friday, 28 March 2014 and Monday, 31 March 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 373.20 crore and gross sales of Rs 2.70 crore.

FIIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 20077.20 crore in March 2014. FIIs bought shares worth net Rs 1404.30 crore in February 2014.

FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 25078 crore in this calendar year so far (till 31 March 2014). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 113135.70 crore in 2013 calendar year.

There are a total of 1,714 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India.
