Net outflow of Rs 182 crore on 24 May 2013

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 182 crore on Friday, 24 May 2013, compared with inflow of Rs 320.10 crore on Thursday, 23 May 2013.

The net outflow of Rs 182 crore on Friday, 24 May 2013, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2384.20 crore and gross sales of Rs 2566.10 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 180.80 crore from the secondary equity markets on 24 May 2013, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2378.40 crore and gross sales of Rs 2559.20 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had gained 30 points or 0.15% to settle at 19,704.33 on that day, its highest level since 22 May 2013.

There was a net outflow of Rs 1.10 crore from the category 'primary market others' on Friday, 24 May 2013, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5.80 crore and gross sales of Rs 6.90 crore.

FIIs have purchased shares worth Rs 18335.80 crore in May 2013 so far (till 24 May 2013). FIIs bought shares worth Rs 5414.10 crore in April 2013.

FIIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 79372.20 crore in 2013 so far (till 24 May 2013). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 128359.80 crore in calendar 2012.
