Net outflow of Rs 1364.80 crore on 20 August 2013
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth net Rs 1364.80 crore on Tuesday, 20 August 2013, much higher than outflow of Rs 653.40 crore on Monday, 19 August 2013.
The net outflow Rs 1364.80 crore on Tuesday, 20 August 2013, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3019.40 crore and gross sales of Rs 4384.30 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 1406.90 crore from the secondary equity markets on 20 August 2013, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2977.20 crore and gross sales of Rs 4384.10 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex shed 61.48 points or 0.34% to settle at 18,246.04 on that day, its lowest closing since 12 April 2013.
There was a net inflow of Rs 42.10 crore into the category 'primary market others' on Tuesday, 20 August 2013, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 42.20 crore and gross sales of Rs 0.20 crore.
FIIs have offloaded shares worth a net Rs 919.80 crore in August 2013 so far (till 20 August 2013). FIIs sold shares worth a net Rs 6086.10 crore in July 2013.
FIIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 65172.50 crore in 2013 so far (till 20 August 2013). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 128359.80 crore in calendar 2012.
