Net purchases of Rs 583.02 crore on 9 June 2014

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 583.02 crore on Monday, 9 June 2014, compared with purchases worth Rs 3425.95 crore during the preceding trading session on Friday, 6 June 2014.

The net inflow of Rs 583.02 crore on Monday, 9 June 2014, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5623.03 crore and gross sales of Rs 5040.01 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 590.87 crore into the secondary equity market on Monday, 9 June 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5622.14 crore and gross sales of Rs 5031.27 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had risen 183.75 points or 0.72% to settle at 25,580.21 on that day, a record closing high for the index.

There was a net outflow of Rs 7.85 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on Monday, 9 June 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 0.89 crore and gross sales of Rs 8.74 crore.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 9638.12 crore in this month so far (till 9 June 2014). FPIs bought shares worth Rs 14006.15 crore in May 2014.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 55442.40 crore in this calendar year so far (till 9 June 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 113135.90 crore in 2013 calendar year.
