Four laning of six highways under the NHDP in the States of West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Orissa and Madhya Pradesh

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has given its approval to six projects (10 packages) of a total length of 712 kilometres and a total cost of Rs. 12,646 crore were approved under various phases of National Highways Development Project (NHDP).

These highway projects are located in the States of West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Orissa and Madhya Pradesh.

The expenditure to be incurred on these projects is to be borne by the Government of India in public interest.

All these projects will convert the existing two-laning highway projects into high quality four-laning highway projects thereby catalyzing the economic development of the regions along the corridors of these highways.
