Net inflow of Rs 995.22 crore on 4 July 2014
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 995.22 crore on Friday, 4 July 2014, compared with inflow of Rs 5292.83 crore on Thursday, 3 July 2014.
The net inflow of Rs 995.22 crore on 4 July 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3684.10 crore and gross sales of Rs 2688.88 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 905.81 crore into the secondary equity market on 4 July 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3583.24 crore and gross sales of Rs 2677.43 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had garnered 138.31 points or 0.54% to settle at 25,962.06 on that day, a record closing high for the index.
There was a net inflow of Rs 89.41 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 4 July 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 100.86 crore and gross sales of Rs 11.45 crore.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 4419.54 crore in this month so far (till 4 July 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 13990.75 crore in June 2014.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 64214.70 crore in this calendar year so far (till 4 July 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 113136 crore in 2013 calendar year.
