Net inflow of Rs 588.59 crore on 18 July 2014
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth net Rs 588.59 crore on Friday, 18 July 2014, lower than net inflow of Rs 1859.34 crore on Thursday, 17 July 2014.
The net inflow of Rs 588.59 crore on 18 July 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3272.63 crore and gross sales of Rs 2684.04 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 575.91 crore into the secondary equity market on 18 July 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3253.49 crore and gross sales of Rs 2677.58 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had gained 80.40 points or 0.31% to settle at 25,641.56 on that day, its highest closing level since 7 July 2014.
There was a net inflow of Rs 12.68 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on 18 July 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 19.14 crore and gross sales of Rs 6.46 crore.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 11343.45 crore in this month so far (till 18 July 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 13990.75 crore in June 2014.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 71138.60 crore in this calendar year so far (till 18 July 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 113136 crore in 2013 calendar year.
