Net inflow of Rs 11.83 crore on 5 August 2014
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth net Rs 11.83 crore on Tuesday, 5 August 2014, compared with net inflow of Rs 427.03 crore on Monday, 4 August 2014.
The net inflow of Rs 11.83 crore on 5 August 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3002.20 crore and gross sales of Rs 2990.37 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 30.10 crore from the secondary equity market on 5 August 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3000.98 crore and gross sales of Rs 2970.88 crore. On that day, the S&P BSE Sensex rose 184.85 points or 0.72% to 25,908.01, highest closing level since 30 July 2014.
There was a net outflow of Rs 18.27 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 5 August 2014, which was a result of gross purchase of Rs 1.22 crore and gross sales of Rs 19.49 crore.
FPIs have sold shares worth a net Rs 2183.62 crore in August 2014 (till 5 August 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 13123.86 crore in July 2014.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 70735.18 crore in this calendar year so far (till 5 August 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 113136 crore in 2013 calendar year.
