Net inflow of Rs 297.90 crore on 22 August 2014

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth net Rs 297.90 crore on Friday, 22 August 2014, compared with net inflow of Rs 490.10 crore on Thursday, 21 August 2014.

The net inflow of Rs 297.90 crore on 22 August 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3360.94 crore and gross sales of Rs 3063.04 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 337.62 crore into the secondary equity market on 22 August 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3360.94 crore and gross sales of Rs 3023.32 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had garnered 59.44 points or 0.23% to settle at 26,419.55 on that day, its highest closing level since 19 August 2014.

There was an outflow of Rs 39.72 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on 22 August 2014.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 4084.61 crore in August 2014 (till 22 August 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 13123.86 crore in July 2014.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 77003.40 crore in this calendar year so far (till 22 August 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 113136 crore in 2013 calendar year.
