FPIs continue buying

Net inflow of Rs 154.53 crore on 18 September 2014

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth net Rs 154.53 crore on Thursday, 18 September 2014, compared with inflow of Rs 178.51 crore on Wednesday, 17 September 2014.

The net inflow of Rs 154.53 crore on 18 September 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3450.13 crore and gross sales of Rs 3295.60 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 92.97 crore into the secondary equity market on 18 September 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3388.57 crore and gross sales of Rs 3295.60 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex garnered 480.92 points or 1.81% to settle at 27,112.21, its highest closing level since 9 September 2014 on that day.

There was an inflow of Rs 61.56 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 18 September 2014.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 6995.07 crore in this month so far (till 18 September 2014). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 6031.95 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far.

FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 5429.76 crore in August 2014. They bought shares worth a net Rs 3101.70 crore from the secondary equity markets in that month.
