FPIs continue buying

Net inflow of Rs 112.37 crore on 19 September 2014

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth net Rs 112.37 crore on Friday, 19 September 2014, compared with inflow of Rs 154.53 crore on Thursday, 18 September 2014.

The net inflow of Rs 112.37 crore on 19 September 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 9110.97 crore and gross sales of Rs 8998.60 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 123.41 crore into the secondary equity market on 19 September 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 9092.50 crore and gross sales of Rs 8969.09 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had fell 21.79 points or 0.08% to settle at 27,090.42 on that day, its lowest level since 17 September 2014.

There was a net outflow of Rs 11.04 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on 19 September 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 18.47 crore and gross sales of Rs 29.51 crore.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 7107.44 crore in this month so far (till 19 September 2014). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 6155.36 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far.

FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 5429.76 crore in August 2014. They bought shares worth a net Rs 3101.70 crore from the secondary equity markets in that month.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 85442.60 crore in this calendar year so far (till 19 September 2014). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 77499.70 crore from the secondary equity markets in this year so far.
