Net inflow of Rs 489.31 crore on 2 March 2015

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 489.31 crore on 2 March 2015.

The net inflow of Rs 489.31 crore on 2 March 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 6756.17 crore and gross sales of Rs 6266.86 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 468.79 crore into the secondary equity market on 2 March 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 6735.65 crore and gross sales of Rs 6266.86 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex gained 97.64 or 0.33% to settle at 29,459.14 on that day, its highest closing level since 19 February 2015.

There was an inflow of Rs 20.52 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 2 March 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 20.52 crore and zero sales.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 3231.80 crore in this month so far (till 2 March 2015). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 3192.12 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 2 March 2015). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 11475.53 crore last month. They had bought shares worth a net Rs 5922.37 crore from the secondary markets last month.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 27626.30 crore in calendar year 2015 so far (till 2 March 2015). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 21801 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015 so far (till 2 March 2015). FPIs had bought shares worth a net Rs 97055.90 crore in the calendar year 2014. They had bought shares worth a net Rs 84440.80 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2014.
