Net inflow of Rs 1070.10 crore on 11 July 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 1070.10 crore from the secondary equity market yesterday, 11 July 2016, compared with inflow of Rs 422.96 crore on Friday, 8 July 2016. The net inflow of Rs 1070.10 crore from the secondary equity markets on 11 July 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4880 crore and gross sales of Rs 3809.90 crore. On that day, the Sensex jumped 499.79 points or 1.84% to settle at 27,626.69, its highest closing level since 19 August 2015.
The net inflow of Rs 3.12 crore from the category 'primary markets & others' on 11 July 2016, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3.46 crore and gross sales of Rs 0.34 crore.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 2728.73 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 11 July 2016). FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 3418.97 crore from the secondary equity markets in June. FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 20964.71 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 11 July 2016). FPIs sold shares worth a net Rs 4362.50 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.
There has been a net inflow of Rs 208.18 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in this month so far (till 11 July 2016). There has been a net inflow of Rs 293.91 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in June. The net inflow from FPIs into category 'primary markets & others' has totaled Rs 1138.79 crore in calendar year 2016 so far (till 11 July 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 22168.40 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in calendar year 2015.
