Net purchases of Rs 480.76 crore 27 July 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) remained net buyers of Indian stocks for the fourteenth trading session in a row on Wednesday, 27 July 2016. FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 480.76 crore from the secondary equity market on 27 July 2016, compared with their purchases of Rs 726.09 crore on 26 July 2016. The net inflow of Rs 480.76 crore on 27 July 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4889.42 crore and gross sales of Rs 4408.66 crore. On that day, the Sensex rose 47.81 points or 0.17% to settle at 28,024.33, its highest closing level since 25 July 2016.
There was an outflow of Rs 5.89 crore from FPIs from the category 'primary market & others' on 27 July 2016, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 0.69 crore and gross sales of Rs 6.58 crore.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 10120.61 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 27 July 2016). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 3418.97 crore from the secondary equity markets last month. FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 28356.59 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 27 July 2016). FPIs sold shares worth a net Rs 4362.50 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.
There has been a net inflow of Rs 480.56 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in this month so far (till 27 July 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 293.91 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' last month. The net inflow from FPIs into category 'primary markets & others' has totaled Rs 1411.17 crore in calendar year 2016 so far (till 27 July 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 22168.40 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in calendar year 2015.
