Net inflow of Rs 279.68 crore on 29 August 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks bought stocks worth a net Rs 279.68 crore from the secondary equity markets yesterday, 29 August 2016 as compared with net inflow of Rs 330.28 crore during the preceding trading session on Friday, 26 August 2016. The net inflow of Rs 279.68 crore on 29 August 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3195.70 crore and gross sales of Rs 2916.02 crore. On that day, the Sensex rose 120.41 points or 0.43% to settle at 27,902.66, its highest closing level since 24 August 2016.
There was net inflow of Rs 277.83 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary market & others' yesterday, 29 August 2016, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 280.47 crore and gross sales of Rs 2.64 crore.
FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 8509.92 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 29 August 2016). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 12068.52 crore from the secondary equity markets last month. FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 38814.42 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 29 August 2016). FPIs sold shares worth a net Rs 4362.50 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.
There has been a net inflow of Rs 172.55 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in this month so far (till 29 August 2016). There was a net inflow of Rs 543.30 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' last month. The net inflow from FPIs into category 'primary markets & others' has totaled Rs 1646.46 crore in calendar year 2016 so far (till 29 August 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 22168.40 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in calendar year 2015.
