Net inflow of Rs 50.94 crore on 29 August 2017

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 50.94 crore from the secondary equity markets yesterday, 29 August 2017, as compared to net purchases of Rs 86.70 crore on 28 August 2017. On 28 August 2017, the Sensex lost 362.43 points or 1.14% to settle at 31,388.39, its lowest closing level since 22 August 2017.

The net inflow of Rs 50.94 crore on 29 August 2017 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4711.33 crore and gross sales of Rs 4660.39 crore.

There was a net inflow of Rs 167.64 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 29 August 2017, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 167.64 crore and nil gross sales.

FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 16035.34 crore into the secondary equity markets in August 2017 so far (till 29 August 2017). They had bought stocks worth a net Rs 4199.62 crore from the secondary equity markets in July 2017.

FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 26708.27 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2017 so far (till 29 August 2017). They had purchased shares worth a net Rs 12094.42 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016.
