Net inflow of Rs 1136.15 crore on 8 September 2014
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth net Rs 1136.15 crore on Monday, 8 September 2014, compared with inflow of Rs 327.30 crore on Friday, 5 September 2014.
The net inflow of Rs 1136.15 crore on 8 September 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4385.90 crore and gross sales of Rs 3249.75 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 1126.29 crore into the secondary equity market on 8 September 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4375.38 crore and gross sales of Rs 3249.09 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex rose 293.15 points or 1.08% to settle at 27,319.85 on that day, a record closing high for the index.
There was an inflow of Rs 9.86 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 8 September 2014.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 5435.92 crore in this month so far (till 8 September 2014). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 5260.30 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far.
FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 5429.76 crore in August 2014. They bought shares worth a net Rs 3101.70 crore from the secondary equity markets in that month.
