Net outflow of Rs 848.95 crore on 27 September 2017
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 848.95 crore into the secondary equity markets on 27 September 2017, compared with net outflow of Rs 1842.64 crore on 26 September 2017. FPIs sold shares for the eighth straight session. On 27 September 2017, the Sensex tumbled 439.95 points or 1.39% to settle at 31,159.81, its lowest closing level since 30 June 2017.
The net outflow of Rs 848.95 crore on 27 September 2017 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5389.21 crore and gross sales of Rs 6238.16 crore.
There was a net inflow of Rs 330.71 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 27 September 2017, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 330.71 crore and zero gross sales.
FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 14760.45 crore into the secondary equity markets in September 2017 so far (till 27 September 2017). They had sold stocks worth a net Rs 15935.61 crore into the secondary equity markets in August 2017.
FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 13572.11 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2017 so far (till 27 September 2017). They had purchased shares worth a net Rs 12094.42 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016.
FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 8045.92 crore from the category primary market & others' in September 2017 so far (till 27 September 2017). They had bought stocks worth a net Rs 1642.12 crore from the category primary market & others' in August 2017.
