Net outflow of Rs 568.59 crore on 12 October 2017
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 568.59 crore into the secondary equity markets on 12 October 2017, higher than net outflow of Rs 17.20 crore on 11 October 2017. On 12 October 2017, the Sensex surged 348.23 points or 1.09% to settle at 32,182.22, its highest closing level since 21 September 2017.
The net outflow of Rs 568.59 crore on 12 October 2017 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4116.68 crore and gross sales of Rs 4685.27 crore.
There was a net inflow of Rs 271.79 crore into the 'primary market & others' category on 12 October 2017, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 276.82 crore and gross sales of Rs 5.03 crore.
FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 5566.81 crore into the secondary equity markets in October 2017 so far (till 12 October 2017). They had sold stocks worth a net Rs 19973.64 crore into the secondary equity markets in September 2017.
FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 2792.11 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2017 so far (till 12 October 2017). They had purchased shares worth a net Rs 12094.42 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016.
