Net outflow of Rs 339.51 crore on 21 December 2017
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 339.51 crore into the secondary equity markets on 21 December 2017, compared with net outflow of Rs 1431.59 crore on 20 December 2017. On 21 December 2017, the Sensex fell 21.10 points or 0.06% to settle at 33,756.28, its lowest closing level since 18 December 2017.
The net outflow of Rs 339.51 crore on 21 December 2017 from the secondary equity markets was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4750.52 crore and gross sales of Rs 5090.03 crore.
There was a net outflow of Rs 969.40 crore from the 'primary market & others' category on 21 December 2017, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 66.66 crore and gross sales of Rs 1036.06 crore.
FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 6375.90 crore into the secondary equity markets in December 2017 so far (till 21 December 2017). They had purchased stocks worth a net Rs 9703.50 crore from the secondary equity markets in November 2017.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 6737.50 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2017 so far (till 21 December 2017). They had purchased shares worth a net Rs 12094.42 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016.
